ABSTRACT: In the contemporary university context, marked by spiritual pluralism and the crisis of meaning, there is still a limited knowledge about how young people sacralize certain realities and how this affects their spiritual development and their search for personal fulfillment. In this framework, the objective of the study was to analyze the realities that university students consider sacred or absolute, the mechanisms and factors that intervene in their sacralization and the way in which these influence their decisions, behaviors, sense of moral obligation and spiritual development. The study used a qualitative approach, with a phenomenological-hermeneutic, exploratory and descriptive design, based on semi-structured interviews with 16 students of advanced cycles of a Peruvian university, belonging to various careers and all self-defined as non-theistic and without religious affiliation. The data were analyzed by thematic and categorical coding. The findings show that the participants mainly sacralize family, personal values, significant life experiences, emotional well-being and one's own identity. These realities operate as ethical-affective nuclei and internal normative referents that guide decisions and moral commitments. Likewise, five mechanisms of sacralization were identified: family and educational influence, transformative biographical experiences, intense emotional experiences, generational contrast and subjective reflection on meaning. It is concluded that the sacralization of contemporary realities configures an autonomous, subjective, relational and mostly non-institutional spirituality, which significantly influences the construction of identity, the elaboration of suffering and the configuration of youth ethical frameworks. The study offers keys to design formative proposals that recognize spiritual diversity and promote processes of critical discernment and integral accompaniment.
